NASA Find Glass Particles on Mars

California - Sensors spacecraft belonging to the United States Space Agency (NASA) found particles of glass on the Planet Mars. The researchers believe, the glass particles as signs of life in the past.

The particles were seen in the red planet's craters. Researchers should use the NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) in order to see the glass on the surface of the Planet Mars.

Researchers suspect, glass deposition occurs when an object such as a meteor, asteroid, or comet crashing into Mars so that trigger excess heat in the ground and transform the surface into a glass.

As reported by Mashable, Thursday (11/6/2015), researchers have been studying the Earth about past life on the Red Planet through the deposition of glass left over from the impact of the collision which happened first.

From the report of a study last year, NASA also found organic molecules and plants buried in glass, created by the impact of asteroids in Argentina millions of years ago.

Meanwhile, Brown University scientist Kevin Cannon and Jack Mustard decided to detect glass on Mars using learning on Earth, but it is not easy, because it detects the glass in the world that has a distance of millions of miles.

However, the Cannon ever started it in a laboratory and create glass with powdered superheating, then measure the spectral signals. After that, Cannon tells the information to the Deputy principal researcher of Mustard, the Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer MRO for the Mars instrument, in order to compare hers with a spectrum that has been gathered from the Planet Mars.

As a result, Mustard found some matches. MRO data show, some craters on Mars there is a sludge of glass at the top of the crater on Mars, the possibility of it happening due to the impact of a collision of foreign objects.

"Analysis the researchers point out, the glass is a common impact deposits on Mars," said Jim Green, Director of NASA'S Planetary Science Division. "This area can be used as targets for future exploration robots as NASA opened the way to Mars along with humans in 2030," he added.
